As a child, Jacque (JT) Turner dreamed of being a photo-journalist…

She collected hundreds of National Geographic magazines and began collecting works of prominent photographers such as Maggie Steber, Lynn Johnson and Sisse Brimberg. She received her first camera at age 10 and immediately began to learn everything she could about how to “properly” use it.

In her teens JT was a signed model. Through that, she befriended a photographer who took her under his wing and she began assisting fashion/commercial shoots as young as 18 years old. By 19 she was an assistant shooter, editing assistant and set designer working with aspiring dancers, actors, models and musicians. She would later be offered a chance to work with a local wedding photographer and she immediately fell in love with the pace and the flow of wedding photography.

JT is know for her ability to organize a wedding day, crowd work, no pose portrait style, night photography, and understanding of what it feels like to be both in front of the camera and behind it. That knowledge coupled with her love for nature and landscape photography makes for some beautiful portraits that showcase both the subject and the beautiful piece of the world around them.

In addition to her wedding work, she is also an avid hiker and is building a portfolio of landscape work for competition purposes in addition to her fine art portraiture.
